Agrinico – Tenuta di Morzano

Tenuta di Morzano

(MONTESPERTOLI – FIRENZE) Tenuta di Morzano is a Tuscan wine producer located in Chianti and specialized in reds based on Sangiovese, accompanied by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz. The production concerns Chianti Docg and Chianti Montespertoli Docg.

Agrinico – Tenuta di Morzano’s History and Philosophy

The territory of the Municipality of Montespertoli is located in the province of Florenceand is characterized by a succession of rolling hills covered with vineyards and olive trees, with dirt roads outlined by rows of cypress trees. Montespertoli with its 2,200 hectares of vineyards mainly cultivated with Sangiovese and its renowned Chianti Exhibition held every year at the end of May is considered to be one of the main wine production areas in Tuscany so much so that in 1997 the denomination was introduced “Chianti Montespertoli” with the aim of producing increasingly important and long-lived wines.

Thanks to the mild climate and continuous ventilation, the Montespertoli terroir manages to mitigate the impetuousness and austerity of the vines it hosts, giving great harmony and elegance.

The Morzano estate belongs to Mignolli family since 1973 and today is expertly curated by Francesca.

The wines of Agrinico – Tenuta di Morzano

The company covers a total area of around 100 hectares. From the 35 contiguous hectares of vineyards, of which 20 are members of the Chianti Montespertoli Docg, well-structured wines of intelligent beauty are obtained. The aromas and flavors of the Tuscan terroir reach their maximum expression thanks to a skilful work in the vineyard and the collaboration with Dr. Riccardo Cotarella , one of the greatest exponents of world oenology.

The average annual production is about 160,000 bottles of which 105,000 between Chianti Docg and Chianti Montespertoli Docg . In all the red wines produced by the company, Sangiovese is the absolute ruler of the grape variety sometimes accompanied by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz.
