Azienda Pianbello

(LOAZZOLO – ASTI) The Pianbello farm has its vineyards that seem to have been designed in that typical Piedmontese landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a production of white and red wines between the town of Loazzolo in the province of Asti and Canelli.

Azienda Pianbello’s History and Philosophy

The Pianbello farm managed by the brothers Pietro and Mario Cirio is located in Piedmont, in the highest hills between the town of Loazzolo in the province of Asti and Canelli. Hills that take the name of Langhe astigiane, 400 m. above sea level, in an uncontaminated corner in the midst of Moscato, Dolcetto, Chardonnay vineyards and luxuriant woods.

So much so that from 22 June 2014, Canelli and Asti Spumante have been proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an integral part of the territory of the Piedmont Wine Landscape: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato . A winemaking tradition dating back to Roman times, that of these areas, among the most important in Italy.

And it is precisely between these two municipalities that Azienda Pianbello has its vineyards that seem designed in that typical Piedmontese landscape and extend over 60 hectares , 31 of which are vineyards , with a production of white and red wines. This area, which for several months of the year, is exposed to sea winds which give the wines a particular aroma and taste . The grape processing systems are traditional and rest on an ancient knowledge and on the experience that the Cirio family, with years of peasant history behind it, it dedicates entirely to the production of an excellent wine and makes the best use of the exceptional resources that these lands offer, following for two generations the traditions of the typical wines of the Asti Langa and Canelli.

The wines of Azienda Pianbello

The highest percentage of production goes to Moscato but not least is the production quality of wines such as Dolcetto and Barbera d’Asti, thanks not only to the ability in processing, but also to all the advanced equipment and technologies of which the cellar makes use , to carry out the whole process up to bottling, ensuring that the wine-making processes are always respected in terms of quality for both white and red wines. The wines of Piandello range from Moscato d’Asti DOCG, to Pianbé Alta Langa Classic Method, to Pianbè Rosè Brut Classic Method, Nuvole Piemonte D.O.C. Chardonnay, at Loazzolo Pianbé-Loazzolo D.O.C. Late Harvest, at the amazing Moscato Pianbè dei Surì Moscato d’Asti D.O.C.G. “Canelli” to which a note of merit goes for its characteristics ranging from floral, aromatic and clotted perfume, to the sweet taste to be discovered, to Barbera d’Asti DOCG, to Dolcetto d’Asti DOC, to Lupo Piemonte Pinot Nero Monferrato and Barbera d’Asti Superiore.

It should be noted that Pietro Cirio is on the board of statutory auditors of the Asti Docg Consortium, a consortium founded on 17 December 1932 to protect Asti Docg, this to underline the current and first-hand commitment of the current owner.

A hint to the label that distinguishes this company must be done, because the Wolf that is depicted is a symbol of tradition and history of this area and which is also present in the emblem of the Municipality of Loazzolo, originally it was called Lupatiolum that is: place where wolves run, which then became a characteristic element of the Pianbello company logo
