Azienda Socrè

(BARBARESCO – CUNEO) The Socré Company has been active since 1869, founded by a ancestor of the current owners of the farmhouse, has been handed down from father to son for generations, and today it can boast about 150 years of winemaking tradition behind it.

Socré’s History and Philosophy

The Socré Company is the story of a typical family-run winery, among the many small farms that represent the true beating heart of the Langhe and Roero oenology, and of a path of growth in quality and constancy, with a production of wines of interest, also evidenced by the important prizes and awards in the various international wine magazines.

The vineyards extend for about three hectares at the foot of the Socré farmhouse , among those hills with a splendid panoramic view, where the excellent exposure facing south and west, in the Roncaglie sub-area, means that the production of this company is of an excellent level.

The company, which has always been oriented towards wine production, has strengthened its growth with the purchase in the Albese and Asti areas,  also planting non-cultivated varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in particular, which have joined the cultivation of the natives Nebbiolo , Barbera , Dolcetto and Croatina , an expansion with the aim of meeting the needs of an increasingly complex and modern market. Its growth continues hand in hand with consolidated exports to various countries.

In 1958 an important transition took place in the production sector, thanks to Benedetto Piacentino , grandfather and father of the current owners who increased the Nebbiolo strains. Then in 1990, the vertical renovation in Barbaresco was continued by his son Marco Piacentin or together with the family.

The wines of Socré

The heart of the company to date is in fact the vineyards in Barbaresco , and it is precisely from these vineyards that Barbaresco Roncaglie was born , the flagship of Socré, but the entire production range of this company is well cared for.

The Socré Company has known and continues to be a concrete reality, capable of combining experience, tradition and autochthony in its production through that passion and sense of work typical of Piedmontese who, with the power of tradition, always have an eye towards a future all year round. teaches of continuous renewal.
