The Bordone Giuseppe Farm is located in Monta ‘in the province of Cuneo in Piedmont, an area that is part of the geographical delimitation of the Roero in the heart of Piedmont, between Asti and the Langhe, on the left bank of the Tanaro river.

A territory characterized by hills and manors that make the landscape suggestive and where the winemaking tradition has a thousand-year history which, not surprisingly, is a UNESCO heritage site.

The Bordone company is family-run, now in its fourth generation, and boasts a production of high quality wines that reflect the indigenous ones: Roero Arneis, Nebbiolo d’Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, Roero and Barbera d’Alba. Grapes present in this part of Italy since ancient times, those that have made Piedmont one of the most important regions in the world for the quality of its famous wines.

Terroir and Philosophy of the wines of Bordone Giuseppe

AzAgr Bordone 27

The company vineyards where the wines of Bordone Giuseppe are born are located on 6 different hills called the “Rocche”, between the municipality of Montà and the Canale and Santo Stefano Roero area. The approximately 15 hectares of the company enjoy a micro-climate, altitude and exposure that are perfect for excellent ripening of the grapes.

The calcareous – clayey soils, on which the grapes grow and are treated, are rich in mineral salts and marine sediments, which allow a specific characteristic recognizable in wines for aroma and character.

The philosophy of this interesting winery is made up of essential elements, which begins with careful and constant work, which continues from the earth to the cellar, respecting the natural times of both the ripening of its grapes, continues with the hand harvest, and culminates with the vinification and bottling, both carried out directly in the cellar, equipped in turn with the best technologies and enriched by constant research.

An example of this are the “cru” or sub-areas of Roero, which after 10 years of research work, saw the light in 2017.

The line of wines of Bordone Giuseppe is well organized with several fine wines that deserve to be underlined such as the two Roero wines “Bric del Medic”, voluminous and with velvety tannins of great character, or the Roero ‘Curs’, savory and with eloquent scents.

Among the wines of Bordone Giuseppe, also Barbera d’Alba Superiore “Sarnia” Doc, with great strength, red fruit and soft tannins, Nebbiolo ‘Vatepe’, a more immediate interpretation of Nebbiolo and excellent gastronomic versatility, should be taken into consideration. Last but not least, among the Bordone Giuseppe wines, the white wine Roero Arneis: floral, intense and harmonious.

But all the labels in the range are noteworthy. It should be noted that the winery also organizes guided tours and tastings.
