The Bric Cenciurio Winery is located in Barolo, a village lying on a small spur-shaped plateau, protected by the surrounding hills, arranged in an amphitheater. This is the area of origin of the grapes suitable for producing one of the most famous wines in the world, Barolo, recognized in 1933 as a “typical fine wine” whose denomination of origin dates back to 31 August 1966 and the subsequent DOCG to 1980.

And it is here that the history of this company was born, which dates back to 1990, thanks to the idea of Franco Pittatore and Carlo Sacchetti, brothers-in-law in life, who united their lands in one of the most suitable areas of Italy for the production of excellent wine. Currently in the company Carlo is supported by his nephews Alessandro and Alberto, as well as by his sister Fiorella.

The peculiarity of the Bric Cenciurio company, which takes its name from a stretch of hill in the municipality of Castellinaldo, and means the top of the Cenciurio hill, is that it has its 15 hectares of vineyards distributed in 3 municipalities: Barolo, in the Langhe, on the right bank of the Tanaro river with vines over 40 years old, Castellinaldo and Magliano Alfieri on the left bank where it is preferred to produce Barbera in particular from a 1940 vineyard, in the Roero area.

The Terroir and the Philosophy of Bric Cenciurio’s wines

The Langa soils on which the vines rest are characterized by white and blue tufaceous marl of Tortonian origin (Marne di Sant’Agata Fossili), which makes the soil very favorable for the cultivation of vines. In the cellar the processing is assisted by techniques handed down from generation to generation. The varieties are grown by Bric Cenciurio in full respect of biodiversity and the environment, thanks to quality viticulture that minimizes the use of synthetic chemicals.

In fact, the wines are characterized by their minerality and follow the aim of enhancing the best aromatic expressiveness of the different grape varieties, the elegance and harmony of the taste sensations.
