The Isarco Valley extends from the source of the Isarco river to the Brenner up to the mouth of the Adige in Bolzano, and is one of the two main valleys in South Tyrol. Among its municipalities is Chiusa, where the Cantina Valle Isarco has been based since 1961, one of the youngest wine cooperatives in South Tyrol.
The philosophy of Valle Isarco wines is to maintain a relationship with the territory through the expression of the wines produced that take their nourishment from aromatic and semi-aromatic vines and from the strong millenary winemaking tradition, in addition to the great synergy of all participating members.
In fact, the wines of Cantina Valle Isarco are produced by 135 members from 11 municipalities, an exponential growth, if you think about the beginning, when the members were only 24 in the first location in the Maso Reinthalerhof owned by Anton Gfader, who was then appointed first director. .
The Terroir of Valle Isarco wines
The wines of Valle Isarco represent an excellence in South Tyrol, in particular – thanks to the great variety of geological conditions of the soils, their altitude, which varies from 300m to 950m above sea level, to the native vines and the extremely favorable climate – of whites which over time have gone to occupy prominent places in the best rankings, both nationally and internationally.
Today Valle Isarco owns vineyards for an area of 150 hectares, in the production area that extends north to Novacella and Bressanone, including Chiusa, Sabiona and ends in the southern Valle Isarco.
The production of Valle Isarco wines is around 950 thousand bottles, which carry the name of Gewürztraminer al Sylvaner, Kerner al Pinot Bianco, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon, without neglecting the truly extraordinary reds. : Schiava, Pinot Nero, Lagrein, Zweigelt, which are witnesses of the highest South Tyrolean enological excellence.

The wines of Valle Isarco are made thanks to the work of the cellar master Hannes Munter, who follows the entire processing with passion and attention to the smallest details, assisted by modern equipment, systems and technologies, respecting the environment and biodiversity.
The line of Valle Isarco wines is distinguished by labels that present, in addition to the classic line of reds and whites, also the 4 special lines: Sabiona, Aristos, Isaras and Nectaris, all wines to be discovered, of great elegance, character and identity .
All around, in the headquarters of the Valle Isarco Winery, you can buy the wines produced in the Wine Shop, where tastings and guided tours are organized, as well as being connected to a historical itinerary, which tells of the winemaking history of the Isarco Valley.
Valle Isarco wines are distinguished by character and elegance and combine great olfactory finesse, flavor and richness on the palate. The testimony, once again, of the great enological potential of the Alto Adige terroir.
