(NEIVE – CUNEO) Collina Serragrilli produces wines in Neive, famous for its wines Barbaresco Cru Serragrilli, Barolo La Tur and many others.

Collina Serragrilli’s History and Philosophy

Neive, an ancient village between Langhe and Monferrato among the most beautiful in Italy, offers a suggestive panorama from the surrounding hills planted with vines. The production area is among the most renowned for great Doc and Docg wines, such as Barbaresco Docg, Barbera d’Alba Doc, Dolcetto d’Alba Docand Moscato d’Asti Docg, which are the flagships of the typical production of the vineyards of the Delve hills in the Neivese hills.

SerragrilliBut Neive also boasts the birthplace of one of the greatest Italian peasant epic writers, Franco Piccinelli. And right on the top of the hill called Serragrilli, for over four generations, the family-run farmhouse, Collina Serragrilli, is managed, today managed by the Lequio and Piernicola Bruno family and which produces wines using only grapes from the 15 hectares of owned vineyards, grown around the farmhouse, on extremely mineral-rich soils and with exposure and altitude that guarantee the perfect ripening of the grapes.

The union of this company is fueled by the family collaboration in which husbands and brothers-in-law are involved, who represent the driving and tireless force of the de facto company. Alessandro Lequio (1933-2016) represented the experience and that tradition, a tradition that since 1890 has been the basis of this winery, while Pienicola Bruno represents its soul, but not least is the work of the winemaker Gianfranco Cordero, who takes care of the technical aspect and guarantees a processing in the cellar made by a constant and updated research according to the most modern winemaking techniques.

The wines of Collina Serragrilli

The innovations in the cellar, in addition to the expansion, have been remarkable with French barriques, Tonneaux in French oak, with which the wine follows different and careful maturation paths, depending on the type and where the great red wines are refined, such as Traditional Barbaresco, or the Barbaresco cru Serragrilli. The line offered is wide and reflects the Piedmontese production, to underline the Barbaresco Serragrilli, a very eloquent wine, with a thick and enveloping tannic texture and the Barolo La Tur, rich, intense and voluminous. But all the wines have recognizable characteristics and a strong territorial connotation. A connotation that has taken increasing strength in sales over the years, conquering international markets.
