The history and the terroir of Domodimonti

Domodimonti produces wines in Montefiore, an ancient village in the province of Ascoli Piceno, overlooking a ridge that divides two valleys, that of the Aso and that of the Menocchia.

With its two medieval castles of Montefiore and Aspramonte it is considered among the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in Italy’. The landscape is truly enchanting, where the mountains create blue transparencies and the Adriatic Sea in the distance gives an intense blue color to the eye.

The spouses Francesco and Marisa Bellini could not fail to be fascinated by their homeland too. In fact, the Domodimonti Agricultural Company was founded in the early 2000s by this couple of Canadian pharmaceutical entrepreneurs of Italian origin. To date, Domodimonti has about 180,000 bottles produced per year and is considered one of the flagship companies of the Marche region.

The Philosophy of Domodimonti wines

Sustainability is a fundamental aspect for the production of Domodimonti wines. In fact, the winery has an architectural structure with a low environmental and landscape impact, with technologically advanced processing plants and computerized monitoring for all stages of processing: from grapes, to vinification and bottling.

In fact, all the electricity used by the Domodimonti winery comes from photovoltaic systems and certified renewable sources.

The philosophy of Domodimonti wines is summarized in two keywords: “Natural and Excellence”, two founding themes of the “Company vision”. It is to keep faith with these two principles that Domodimonti, over the years, has undertaken the organic certification process for the entire Estate, for European and Canadian standards, obtained in 2018.

Domodimonti has 48 hectares of which 8 are olive groves and 30 are vineyards, cultivated with both local and international grapes: Passerina, Pecorino, Montepulciano, Merlot, Petit Verdot which are located at a height between 50 and 250m above sea level. , on predominantly clayey soils and facing south, which guarantee perfect ripening and processing of the grapes.
