Tasting of Dorso Rosso Negroamaro Salento IGP 2013 red wine from Cantine Paolo Leo

We taste the Dorso Rosso Negroamaro Salento IGP 2013 wine

The wine was born together with a truly significant project: it adopts an Alberello, an initiative promoted by Cantine Paolo Leo in order not to abandon the traditional method of growing vineyards in Puglia. The production method of this wine derives from a family secret. The vineyards from which the grapes come, grown in Alberello  since 1965, are located in San Dònaci, in the “Carritelli” district. Shiny ruby with purple glares. It opens up notes of tobacco and then embraces spicy tones. Powerful and dynamic, the sip is well balanced. Given the complexity of the perfumes, extensive oxygenation is recommended.

A family history that is inextricably linked to the territory in which they operate, or to San Dònaci, a town between Lecce and Taranto in the heart of Salento. Here Paolo Leo, the owner, has found the right compromise between modernity and progress in the vineyard and in the cellar.
