Eredi Fuligni

The company of Eredi Fuligni boasts a long tradition of Brunello di Montalcino red wine and thanks to the help of Roberto Guerrini, today they are one of the best producers of the Tuscan hills.

Eredi Fuligni’s History and Philosophy

About fifty years ago the extension of vineyards in Montalcino was quite limited (in the late 1950s, even before the denomination existed, there were just 60 total hectares of vineyards), but extremely clear. There were very few companies that bottled wine. How things have changed in less than two generations! Now there are about 2000 hectares of vineyards that produce Brunello di Montalcino , with further hectares for Rosso di Montalcino , and an entire new denomination, Sant’Antimo , for grape varieties and non-traditional wines.

For over a century, the Eredi Fuligni winery has been demonstrating the wine potential of this area and has firmly maintained a position of pre-eminence in the national wine scene, thanks to wines that are powerful examples in their field. The real leap in quality was made in the 70s, and since then it has been an unceasing path towards excellence. Their vineyards, about 10 hectares, extend in the north and north-east area of Montalcino, more precisely in the Cottimelli area , with altitudes between 380 and 450 meters. The exposure, facing mainly and east, and the significant height, ensure a complex, elastic and elegant character to the whole production.

But obviously nature is not enough to ensure personality to the wines, you need the hand of the man or, in this case, it would be better to say about the woman. The house is in fact managed by Mrs. Maria Flora Fuligni in a passionate and serious way, a concern perceivable both in the care of the vineyards and in the cellar, where the Brunello is aged in oak after a stop in a tonneau. In addition to her, the prominent figures in the company are her nephew, Roberto Guerrini and the winemaker Paolo Vagaggini , precious advisers and helpers.

The wines of Eredi Fuligni

In their collection, where the Brunello and Brunello Riserva obviously stand out, there is perhaps a slight loss of body, which is compensated with a great class, which his loyal admirers have appreciated for over 30 years.
