In San Gimignano this winery produces Tuscan wines of absolute value, such as red Paretaio wine, Sangiovese and Merlot blend, Vernaccia Ab Vinea Doni and Vernaccia Vigna a Solatio and on top of all red wines Campora Toscana IGT.

Falchini’s History and Philosophy

The fine wine has a charm of its own, and it is easy to understand the desire, felt by wine lovers who can count on a certain passion and adequate capital, to enter the sector and become their own producers. How the decision by families, normally born and raised by growing grapes and producing wine, to continue the work of past generations does not need to be explained. One of the strangest stories of all is that of a family who became a producer in a well-known area of Tuscany , but without any particular experience in the sector or direct desire to do it. The Falchini family , in fact, was a family of construction builders specializing in large civil and industrial buildings in Florenceand especially in Prato .

In 1964, Riccardo Falchini in search of a farm in Chianti to produce wine and oil for his own use, on the advice of a friend who took him to San Gimignano instead , Riccardo fell in love and purchased the ancient property with vineyards, very close to the walls of San Gimignano. And in this way the Casale Falchini farm was born , and now it has become for forty years one of the top names of San Gimignano together with its Vernaccia , the main and oldest white wine of Tuscany. Riccardo Falchini, whose children now continue their work, was a man of superior intellect and a close friend of Giacomo Tachis, the great winemaker who created some of the most famous Tuscan and Italian wines from the 70s onwards.

The wines of Falchini

Riccardo Falchini possessed a wider perspective on the world and in fact the production of Casale Falchini was among the first to bring an international touch to the wines of his territory thanks above all to the precious advice of Dr. Tachis. Something that can be immediately perceived in wines like Vernaccia di San Gimignano Ab Vinèa Doni and Vernaccia di San Gimignano Riserva Vigna a Solatìo .

And most of all among the high quality red wines, Paretaio , a blend of Sangiovese with small percentages of Merlot , a wine that Falchini has produced since the mid-80s, and above all, Campora , which, since its first vintage produced, 1985, surprised everyone for the superior level that Cabernet Sauvignon was able to obtain in a territory mainly of whites. And now he has found many followers.
