(TRECASE – NAPOLI) Mario Terzo and his wife Milly created this company in 2013 in the Vesuvius National Park. Only one bottle of white wine is produced, made from Falanghina grapes, absolutely excellent and, of course, unique.


FloraMi’s History and Terroir

FloraMi is a very young company, founded in 2013 by Mario Terzo and his wife Milly , two engineers driven by a strong passion for wine and the Vesuvian territory. This company is located on the slopes of the Vesuvius National Park , in Tirone della Guardia , in the municipality of Trecase , 300 meters above sea level, and enjoys a spectacular view of the entire Gulf of Naples. We are talking about one of the most suggestive areas of Italy, both for history and culture. The area is characterized by maritime pines, prickly pears and all around gorse and numerous wild orchids and epiphyllum which grow among the lava stones and make up the typical Mediterranean scrub that has inspired so many poets, musicians and writers of all centuries .

The Philosophy of the wines of FloraMi

Over the centuries, this area, between Naples and Pompeii, has become famous for its production of wines, including niche wines, made from the varieties spread throughout the territory, such as Caprettone, Falanghina, for the white grape variety, Piedirosso and Aglianico, for the red berry type. FloraMi produces wines using only the Falanghina grape, a primitive grape, imported by the ancient Greeks, which over time has developed an excellent ability to adapt to different types of terroir and has been enriched with peculiar aromas, while maintaining its own personality. Just one hectare of vineyards, but cultivated on a frank and masterly basis, as evidenced by the only wine produced, or indole, where the minerality of Vesuvius emerges in all its splendor.

The wines of FloraMi

The success that this young company has been able to obtain is linked in particular to the characteristics that respect the Vesuvian winemaking tradition, which are distinguished by two different aspects: the first resides in viticulture, with the free-foot technique, the second in winemaking, which by peasant tradition, it also macerates for white berried varieties. But to macerate the grapes, and obtain an excellent wine, the product must be healthy; and it is precisely here that the FloraMi company has been able to create that synergy throughout the production process, thanks to the work done in the vineyard and in the cellar, with the support of the winemaker Vincenzo Mercurio, basing everything on a natural approach, the strength of the production. A new reality, which with passion and concreteness faces a strong tradition and competence, which promises a production level to follow.
