La Capinera’s History and Philosophy
We are in the Marche region a very interesting region for the production of quality wines, here viticulture has a prestigious position and the wines produced are known for their originality and quality. The Capinera company has its headquarters in the province of Macerata in the municipality of Morrovalle which stands on one of the typical rolling hills of the Marches that surround the valley of the Chienti river, with the Sibillini behind and where the gaze goes towards the sea in front.
Morrovalle is known as the city of wine, and is located at an altitude of about 245 m a.s.l. In order to remain in line with the high quality standards present in the province, local producers have always positioned their vineyards in the best soils to obtain excellent grapes for high-quality wines.
In this regard, the vineyards of the Capinera winery managed by Paolo Capinera are located on about 7 of the 40 hectares owned by the company, well exposed to the south towards the river valley. Here the soil is of medium texture tending to clayey with a good presence of limestone, which makes it very favorable for the cultivation of vines, olives and herbaceous crops. Some vineyards the older ones date back 45 years, while the younger ones 2 years ago and not yet in production. They are important vines and enter the production disciplinary of doc wines of the province of Macerata.

The cultivated varieties are both native grapes such as: Maceratino-Ribona, Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and international grapes such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon. The first bottle produced dates back to 1993, to date the production is about 30 thousand bottles. The winery was built in 2000 and the care has been entrusted since the beginning to the oenologist Giovanni Basso.
The wines of La Capinera
The line produced is well organized in its 10 different labels, which are: Murrano, Fontelata, La Capinera, Giacopetto, Duca Guarnerio, Cardinal Minio, Beato Masseo, Gottifredo, Capinera Selection and Spumante Capinera, included in the most authoritative wine guides and magazines . In production on the farm there are also over 550 olive trees owned for the sale of extra virgin olive oil.
