“La Prima dell’Alta Langa” , it was the great tasting of all the cuvées of the members of the Alta Langa Consortium coordinated by the Italian Sommelier Association , which took place on Monday 21 October in Milan at Palazzo Serbelloni , in Corso Venezia 16, from 10 to 19.
The Alta Langa shows Milan what it is capable of: creating classic methods of sparkling wines, a classic method of international caliber , also thanks to the savoir faire deriving from a long experience of many producers in the field of red wines of great thickness and quality now well known , from Barolo to Barbaresco, from Roero to Barbera d’Alba or Dogliani Superiore.
Some characteristics of the disciplinary of the Alta Langa DOCG
L’Alta Langa DOCG viene realizzato con uve Pinot Nero e Chardonnay, in purezza o insieme in percentuale variabile; può essere bianco o rosé, brut o pas dosé e ha lunghissimi tempi di affinamento sui lieviti, come prevede il severo disciplinare: almeno 30 mesi.
L’Alta Langa è esclusivamente millesimato, riporta cioè sempre in etichetta l’anno della vendemmia.
L’Alta Langa bianco ha sfumature da giallo paglierino a oro intenso e aromi che ricordano la frutta bianca e gli agrumi con sentori di crosta di pane. Al palato è armonico, caratterizzato da una delicata sapidità.
L’Alta Langa rosé ha un colore rosa cipria o più marcato quando è giovane, l’intensità aromatica tipica del Pinot Nero, con profumi che spaziano dal pompelmo alle spezie, un gusto equilibrato, ampio e lungo in cui si ritrova la sapidità caratteristica dell’Alta Langa Docg.
