The History of Les Crêtes wines
Les Crêtes was born in 1989 in Aymavilles under the impulse of Costantino Charrère, who with foresight and determination gave birth to one of the most important oenological realities of the Aosta Valley. Constantine’s contribution was providential to renew the Aosta Valley viticulture and raise it to an international level.
Les Cretes is coordinated by the Charrère family, which for five generations has been inextricably linked to the production of high quality wine. The company currently has about 25 hectares of vineyards planted with international varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Nero, Syrah, and native vines such as Petite Arvine, Mayolet, Cornalin, Fumin, Petit Rouge and Nebbiolo. The annual production of Les Crêtes wines is around 200,000 bottles produced.
The Terroir of Les Crêtes wines
The great mountain slopes of the Aosta Valley are places where viticulture becomes heroic, and requires great skill in choosing how to plant the vineyards. The vineyards from which the wines of Les Crêtes are born along the Dora Baltea, in the municipalities of Saint Pierre, Aymavilles, Gressan, Sarre, Aosta and Saint Christophe.
The soils where the wines of Les Crêtes are born are mainly moraine and sandy, particularly suited to give the wines flavor and minerality on the palate. The alpine climate of the Aosta Valley, on the other hand, thanks to its particular temperature ranges, favors ideal conditions for giving life to wines with eloquent and elegant aromas.

The range of wines from the Les Cretes winery is considerable and ranges from international vines to local grapes. Of great interest among the wines of Les Crêtes is the Valle d’Aosta DOC “Neige D’or”, an award-winning wine obtained from the assembly of native vines. It is a wine of unusual finesse, fully qualified among the best Italian white wines.
Also to be taken into consideration are elegant interpretations of French vines such as Chardonnay ‘Cuvée Bois’, savory and very fresh, and Pinot Noir Les Cretes, of great immediacy and silkiness.
Not to be missed among the wines of Les Crêtes also the sensational Fumin, with sweet tannins and aromas of small red fruits and the Petite Arvine ‘Fleur’, with floral and citrus aromas, which reveals itself involving and mineral on the palate.
The wines of Les Crêtes are all of great character, and combine great olfactory finesse, flavor and richness on the palate. A testimony once again of the great expressive potential of the terroir of the Aosta Valley.
