Adolfo Parentini, owner of the Moris Farms company , located in  Massa Marittima, thanks to the support of his collaborators, has managed to create excellent wines such as the red wine Morellino di Scansano, Monteregio di Massa Marittima DOC and Avvoltore.

Moris Farms’s History and Philosophy

Not many men or companies can boast of having practically created their own denomination and production area, but this is the case of Adolfo Parentini and the MorisFarms estate , a company located in Massa Marittima near the Tuscan coast with possessions throughout the province of Grosseto, and it is certainly worth dwelling on the details.

The story begins in the late 1980s when Parentini , a Florentine who joined the Moris family by getting married, began to reflect on the future of their wine production. The 80 hectares of vineyards produced a significant amount of wine, but very little was bottled and the majority of the harvest was sold wholesale in demijohns, in the various outlets that had opened in the province of Grosseto . But Parentini, a meditative and thoughtful man, was convinced that the company could do better and that the future was in the much more profitable field than bottled wine. As the consumption of table wine was continuously declining in Italy, the future of wholesale wine was also uncertain, and the international markets for quality wine became increasingly attractive.

The wines of Moris Farms

What was absolutely necessary was a man who could give the decisive push towards a quality production, and Parentini found him in Attilio Pagli , a young wine consultant who, in the following decades, would become a key figure in the quality leap of the wines of the region. The wines of 1988 had already surpassed the previous ones in terms of richness, fullness, roundness and fragrance and neither Parentini nor Pagli ever looked back. The first wines to attract attention were those from the Morellino di Scansano denomination , already known, but the wines of MorisFarms , together with those of Le Pupille , were something completely different.

They went even further with the wines produced north of Grosseto in what would become the new Monteregio di Massa Marittima DOC . The quality that can be obtained in this area was symbolized by the large and powerful Avvoltore , another result of the Parentini-Pagli collaboration . A company that wishes to invest in the area, Moris Farms is now in excellent company with some of the best and best known names in Italy.
