(ALBA – CUNEO)  In the heart of the Langhe, precisely in the historic center of Alba, Pio Cesare produces high quality Piedmontese Barolo and Barbaresco red wines. The fifth generation is now headed and surely the surprises are not over.

Pio Cesare’s History and Philosophy

Pio Cesare was born by the Founder, Cesare by name and Pio by surname, in 1881 in Alba , the capital of the Langhe , and today remains the only winery still operating in the historic center of the city. Built on 4 levels, one of which is even below the aquifer of the Tanaro river, the cellar is crossed and delimited by the Ancient Roman walls of the city of Alba Pompeia, which make it the foundation.

After almost 140 years, the company still remains firmly family-run today. The fourth generation, Pio Boffa, in fact leads and directs the company, combining tradition with innovation in the cellar. His daughter Federica Rosy and grandson Cesare work alongside him today, representing the fifth generation and guaranteeing the continuity of the style of Pio Cesare wines in the future.
