Prediomagno

(GRANA – ASTI) The Prediomagno winery is located in Grana in the province of Asti in the lower Monferrato and produces wines from native vines such as Ruché, Barbera and international varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Nero and Sauvignon.

The history of Prediomagno wines

The Prediomagno Company was born from the impulse of the spouses Emanuela Novello and her husband Giovanni, with the acquisition of a property with a nineteenth-century Villa overlooking the Castle of Prediomagno.

The owners were deeply convinced in the winemaking vocation of the Basso Monferrato and therefore decided to start producing wines inspired by the territory with a particular focus on the native grape variety par excellence of this area: Il Ruché.

To achieve this mission, a rigorous conservative restoration was carried out on the Villa and the suggestive ancient underground cellars, equipping them with the most modern enological technologies.

The Prediomagno company also boasts prestigious collaborations: Riccardo Cotarella as an oenological consultant, the expert agronomist Daniele Gilberto and the artist Giacomo Bersanetti for the creation of the labels.

The elegant wines of Prediomagno are born today from about 25 hectares of vineyards and are ideal for those looking for Piedmontese wines with an authentic and refined character.

The Philosophy of Prediomagno Wines

The quality of Prediomagno wines is evidenced by rigorous agronomic work in the vineyard and careful manual selection of the grapes, in order to bring to the cellar only grapes of excellent ripeness that are a true expression of the lower Monferrato terroir.

The choices adopted for Prediomagno wines allow us not to have to intervene with invasive corrections during the vinification phase and let the grapes become a sincere narrator of the territory of origin, in its ampelographic, pedoclimatic specificities and in the climatic trend of the different vintages.

Terroir of Prediomagno wines

The wines of Prediomagno come from vineyards located on the lower hills of the Basso Monferrato Astigiano where small villages and fortified castles stand out on the horizon of gentle hills.

Of great tourist interest in this area are the two Unesco sites: the Sanctuary of the Sacro Monte di Crea and the infernot, ancient underground cellars dug into the Pietra da Cantoni.

The climate here is typically continental, with hot summers and cold winters, and important diurnal temperature variations that favor the expressiveness of the aromas in the grapes.

The soils where Prediomagno wines are born are the typical white soils of the Lower Monferrato, of a calcareous clayey nature, which favor intense fruity notes, freshness and aging potential in the wines.
