Tenuta Lamborghini’s History and Philosophy

Ferruccio Lamborghini was not the first known person to choose Umbria , a region with a deep soul and deep-rooted mysticism, as a refuge.

Protagonist and architect of the great history of Italian industry, in the last years of his career he retired to his Estate in Umbria dedicating himself to the running of the company. The production of Colli del Trasimeno red wine is well known, known by all as “Sangue di Miura”, dedicated to the legendary Miura, which revolutionized sports cars from 1966 to 1973, obtaining a sensational global success.

Tenuta Lamborghini is located in the arsenal of one of the most beautiful villages in Italy , Panicale , in the province of Perugia . The company, located on the hill on the slopes of Mount Petrarvella, covers an area of ​​100 hectares and dominates the Roman Val di Chiana, between the enchanting valley of the nearby Lake Trasimeno and the valley of the Nestòre river.

The first vintage marketed was 1975, the year of birth of Patrizia, the beloved daughter, who since the 90s has managed the various activities of the estate with determination and foresight, divided between a 9-hole golf course, a farmhouse, a restaurant and the wine part. Heir not only of history, but above all of the paternal philosophy that aspired to the production of wines of the highest level.

The wines of Tenuta Lamborghini

In 1997 the production, from the management of the vineyards to the oenological management, underwent a radical change: Since then most of the vineyards have been replanted favoring vines such as Sangiovese , Merlot , Cabernet Sauvignon and Grechetto . To date, the new vineyards of selected clones extend over 30 hectares but the company program of the current property provides for the renewal of the entire area planted with vines.

The extreme search for quality, the desire to highlight the characteristics of the territory and the precious oenological management of Riccardo Cotarella , have generated a radical change aimed at the production of wines of the highest quality level
